How to book a padel court in Australia
How to book a padel court in Australia: Playtomic, MATCHi and venue apps, open matches if you have no group, booking lengths and what to check first.
Short answer: Most Australian padel venues take bookings online. The most common app is Playtomic, which many clubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Queensland use. Others use MATCHi (Padel Brisbane, Padel Gold Coast), their own apps (Play Padel in Perth, Padel Fit in Adelaide) or booking systems on their websites. You book a whole court for four players, or join an "open match" or social session if you do not have a group.
Booking padel is a little different from booking a tennis court, because every game needs four players. Here is how it works at Australian venues, based on their booking pages in November 2026.
Which app do I need to book padel?
It depends on the venue. From the venues I checked:
| Booking system | Example venues |
|---|---|
| Playtomic | Most Sydney clubs, Game4Padel, Recess, iPadel, Nordic and Tribe in Melbourne, Canberra Racquet Club, Padel Crush and Padel 360 in Perth, Gold Coast Racquet Club, Ace Padel |
| MATCHi | Padel Brisbane (The Gap and Landers Pocket), Padel Gold Coast |
| Venue's own app or site | Play Padel (Padel Perth Reabold), Padel Fit (Adelaide), Colosso and Noo's Padel (Melbourne) |
| Wansport app | West Coast Padel (Perth) |
| Online booking via website | Padel West (Perth), Swan Valley Retreat (Fresha) |
Each venue page in my where to play section names the booking system I found.
How do I book a court on Playtomic?
- Download the Playtomic app or open the website and create an account.
- Search for the club by name or location.
- Choose a date, time and length. Prices usually appear once you pick a slot.
- Pay for the booking and invite your playing partners.
- Check the cancellation policy before you confirm.
Playtomic club pages also list the club's courts, opening hours, facilities, classes and events. That is where most of the venue details on this site came from.
How long should I book for?
Common lengths are 60, 90 and 120 minutes. Padel Fit in Adelaide, for example, offers one, one and a half or two hour bookings. Ninety minutes is a popular choice for a social game of four, as it gives time to warm up and play a couple of sets. Padel West in Perth allows bookings in half-hour steps.
What if I do not have three other players?
You have three good options:
- Join an open match. On Playtomic and some club apps, players post games that need one, two or three more people. You join and pay your share. Padel Fit in Adelaide lists open matches on its booking system.
- Go to a social. Most clubs run social sessions where you turn up alone and are mixed into games by level. Prices are usually $20 to $45 per person. See cost to play padel.
- Book an intro class. A class puts you on court with other beginners and a coach. See padel lessons.
Do I pay per court or per player?
It varies. Some venues show a price per court per hour, such as $60 to $100 at the Racquet Club venues. Others show a price per player, such as Padel West ($12 to $15 per player per hour) and Sidewall Social ($20 to $25). PADLX on the Gold Coast lists both: $80 to $100 per court, or $20 to $25 per player. Always check which one you are looking at.
What should I check before booking?
- Indoor or outdoor. Every open venue I found in Perth is outdoors. Check the forecast for outdoor courts. See indoor vs outdoor courts.
- Peak or off-peak. Weekday daytime is usually cheaper.
- Racket hire. Is it included, and how do you collect it? West Coast Padel, for example, adds racket hire in its app and leaves rackets in a lockbox.
- Balls. Are they supplied, sold at the desk, or from a vending machine?
- Cancellation policy. Padel West, for example, refunds cancellations made at least 24 hours ahead. Policies vary, so read the terms.
- Minimum players. Swan Valley Retreat, for example, takes bookings for two to eight people.
- Facilities. Change rooms, showers, parking and a cafe vary a lot. Game4Padel Richmond's Playtomic page notes it has no change rooms or showers.
How far ahead can I book?
It depends on the venue and your membership level. Popular times can book out first, so book early for evenings and weekends. Some clubs give members a longer booking window than casual players. Indoor Padel Australia, for example, lists up to 21 days' advance booking with its six-month membership.
Can I book a court for a corporate event or party?
Many venues offer this. Padel Fit in Adelaide lists corporate and event hire, and several clubs list socials and events on their booking pages. Contact the venue directly for group bookings.
